Monthly Update

Published July 15, 2026  |  used enterprise servers, used storage hardware, third party maintenance, OEM contract expiration, refurbished enterprise servers

Here is the straight rundown for July. Memory prices are still climbing, the OEMs are pushing their AI-era gear, and a big wave of end-of-support dates is lining up for late fall. If you are buying, selling, or trying to keep older gear running past its OEM contract, this is what matters right now.

New Product Releases

The major manufacturers spent the spring reworking their production compute and storage lines for AI workloads. Here is what actually shipped or hit availability that a data center buyer should know about.

Dell

PowerStore Elite

Dell’s new production storage platform goes globally available this month. Three models (1500, 5500, 9500), up to 5.8PB effective in a single 3U chassis, DDR5 and PCIe Gen 5, with mixed-generation clustering so you are not forced into a full rip-and-replace.

Dell

PowerEdge 18th Gen (R9825 / R9815 / M9825)

Dell’s 18th-gen PowerEdge line was announced at Dell Technologies World and claims up to 70 percent more performance than 17th gen. Mostly AMD 6th-gen EPYC, with air and liquid cooling designs. The rack and blade models land in the second half of 2026.

HPE

Alletra Storage MP X10000

HPE added native file storage to the X10000’s object platform, generally available this quarter. Scales to 16 nodes and 23PB raw. This is HPE’s play for unstructured data feeding AI pipelines, and it sits in the production storage tier, not a specialty box.

HPE

ProLiant Compute DL394 Gen12

A 2U rack server built for agentic AI workloads, part of the NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE portfolio. Hits 1.2 TB/s aggregate memory bandwidth. General availability is set for fall 2026, so plan around a wait if you are speccing one in.

Pure Storage

FlashArray//XL 190

The new top-end FlashArray//XL reached general availability earlier this year, alongside refreshed //X R5 and //C R5 models. Pure also rolled out its Deep Reduce always-on compression across the FlashArray and FlashBlade lines.

NetApp

AFF A-Series (A1K flagship)

NetApp’s all-flash AFF line keeps carrying its numbers, with the A1K as the current flagship and 15 models in active support. Worth noting if you are weighing a new AFF buy against picking up a still-supported prior-gen array on the secondary market.

EOL / EOS / EOSL Tracker

This is the section maintenance customers should read twice. Below are the milestones we are watching for production compute and storage. Dates shown in orange are the nearest ones to plan around. Heads up: the biggest wave of end-of-support-life dates this cycle lands on November 30, 2026, so if any of these are in your rack, now is the time to line up a plan, not December.

Quick key: EOS end of sale   EOL end of life   EOSL end of support life (the one that ends OEM maintenance)

Vendor Product Milestone Date
Cisco UCS C220 M5 / C240 M5 EOSL Nov 30, 2026
Cisco UCS C220 M5 / C240 M5 (last software fixes) EOL Oct 29, 2026
NetApp AFF A220 EOSL Nov 30, 2026
NetApp AFF A300 EOSL Nov 30, 2026
NetApp FAS 8200 EOSL Nov 30, 2026
HPE ProLiant DL360 / DL380 Gen10 EOL Passed (EOSL ~Oct 2029)
Cisco Select UCS / UCSX / HCI Accessories EOS Mar 19, 2026 (last order, passed)

An EOSL date is not a shutdown date. When the OEM support clock runs out, you have real options. Third party maintenance can keep that Cisco UCS or NetApp AFF fully covered for a fraction of an OEM renewal. You can slot in used or refurbished units of the same model to keep your environment consistent without paying new-gen prices. And if you are retiring the gear, that legacy hardware still has resale value on the secondary market. Do not let an OEM contract expiration push you into a forced refresh you did not budget for.

Market Pulse

The short version: AI demand is still eating the supply chain, and that keeps working in favor of anyone buying used or extending the life of what they already own.

TPM savings vs OEM renewal

The memory crunch is the story again this month. HBM for AI accelerators is pulling wafer capacity away from standard DRAM, and server RDIMM lead times have stretched past 45 weeks in some cases. Prices that were already up 30 to 50 percent over the past year are still moving the wrong direction. If your refresh plan depends on new gear landing on a schedule, build in slack, because the OEMs cannot ship what the fabs cannot make.

Storage is holding up a little better than compute on availability, but the new production arrays coming out (PowerStore Elite, Alletra MP X10000, the FlashArray refresh) are all priced for the AI era. That gap between new-gear sticker shock and what a still-capable used array costs has never been wider. We are seeing steady demand for refurbished PowerEdge, ProLiant, and NetApp AFF units from buyers who need capacity now and do not want to wait three quarters or pay the memory premium.

On the sell side, if you have legacy gear sitting idle, the secondary market is liquid right now. Tight new supply props up used values, so decommissioned enterprise IT equipment is worth more than it would be in a normal cycle. It is a decent window to turn retired hardware into budget.

When your OEM contract is expiring, run this checklist

Third party maintenance has quietly become the default move for post-warranty gear. The hybrid model (OEM on the new mission-critical stuff, TPM on everything stable and older) is where most shops are landing. Before you sign an OEM renewal, check these:

✓  Pull every asset with an EOSL date inside the next 12 months and price TPM against the OEM renewal quote.

✓  Separate your true mission-critical boxes from the stable, post-warranty ones. Those are your TPM candidates.

✓  Confirm your models are still TPM-supportable (Cisco UCS, Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, and NetApp AFF almost always are).

✓  Line up used or refurbished spares of the same model now, while secondary supply is healthy.

✓  For anything you are retiring, get a resale quote before it goes to the scrap pile.

Got gear coming off OEM support, or capacity you need now?

We buy, sell, and maintain used enterprise servers and storage from every major manufacturer. Whether you are covering an expiring contract with third party maintenance, sourcing refurbished hardware without the new-gear wait, or selling off legacy equipment, reach out and we will talk through your options. No pressure, just straight answers.
