This scalable system is designed to grow with your business. Use it with a single Symmetrix VMAX Engine and one storage bay, or eight engines and ten storage bays. As your need for faster speeds and more storage increases, the used EMC Symmetrix VMAX system is easily upgradable.
Built for powerful data processing, the VMAX systems’ engines are equipped with quality components that are rugged and reliable. Inside each engine are two director boards and memory chips. For easy connection to hosts and storage bays, each engine also includes built-in front and back-end ports. Fully stocked director boards include two Intel quad core processors; a system interface board responsible for connecting the director board to the matrix interface; and a choice of 16, 32, or 64 GB of physical memory. Like the engines, the director boards also have built-in front and back-end ports for easy connectivity.

EMC Symmetrix VMAX systems represent powerful storage solutions – highly capable even if you’re managing a massive amount of data. In fact, these systems have room for up to 4,000 hard drives. Choose between 1-10 storage bays, each of which has room for 16 disk array enclosures, which can hold 15-25 hard drives each. VMAX systems are compatible with SATA, Fiber Channel, SAS, and Solid State drives.
