IBM z13s (Business Class)
The IBM z13s (machine type 2965) was introduced in 2016 as the smaller, more cost-effective counterpart to the IBM z13. Designed for midsize enterprises and secondary workloads, it delivers the same mainframe-class reliability and security in a more compact, affordable package.

The z13s supports up to 4 TB of memory and leverages the same advanced processor technology as the larger z13, including simultaneous multithreading (SMT) for greater per-core performance. It was also the first “entry-level” mainframe to support IBM’s industry-leading cryptography features, making it ideal for businesses focused on secure, high-volume transaction processing.
