HPE 3PAR 7000 End of Service Announcement: EOSL 2022

HPE will officially retire the 3PAR 7200 and 3PAR 7400 systems October 31, 2022.

After this date, HPE will not renew any maintenance contracts, or answer service calls on any 7000 series system. Your options are:

  1. Retire the system, and migrate to a new system
  2. Obtain 3rd party maintenance for your 3PAR 7000 series storage system.
  3. Run the machine with no support.

3PAR 7000 series was first launched in 2014 as HP’s first product line  after the acquisition of 3PAR systems. HP named the equipment as “END of LIFE” in 2017, meaning they would no longer produce or take orders on these systems.

HP has since released the 3PAR 8000 and 3PAR 9000 families as upgrade options.

HPE 3PAR Operating System

HPE recommends that you operate HPE 3PAR Storage at the latest supported version of HPE 3PAR Operating System.

The last HPE 3PAR Operating System (OS) version qualified for HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 systems is HPE 3PAR OS 3.3.1.

It is highly recommended that you update your OS before leaving HP support.

Third Party Support: Your Best Option

Not only can we save you thousand (sometimes tens-of-thousands) on your monthly maintenance costs, but we can also save you the capital expenditure that comes with buying new hardware and the headache of migrating.

These systems are great, even by today’s standards, and can be run successfully for the next decade.
