Applications
Disaster recovery -
L20 library backup tapes can be stored offsite, providing low-cost disaster
protection in distributed Windows, Novell, Linux and UNIX environments.
Backup and restore -
The L20 library, configured with tape drives and tape media, provides backup and
recovery in distributed Windows, Novell, Linux and UNIX environments.
Features and IT Benefits
Space, cost savings -
With 10-20 cartridge slots and support for multiple tape technologies, the L20
library lets you store more data in less physical rack space, saving you both
space and money.
Enhanced data protection -
With its unmatched reliability and hands-free automation, the L20 library helps
you keep Open Systems data protected and available.
Easy expandability -
As your needs grow, you can easily add drives or cartridges, change to new drive
technologies or swap to a larger library at a reduced price.
Ease of use -
The included L20 Guided Install CD and plug-and-play features enable easy
installation, configuration and use. Remote monitoring and diagnostic tools
simplify management.
Any Cartridge Any Slot™ technology -
Support for multiple tape drive technologies lets you mix and match tape
technologies and migrate data seamlessly within the same library. The L20
library supports LTO Ultrium Gen 1, 2 and 3, SDLT 320 and SDLT 600.
Library Status Tool -
This tool’s web-based remote diagnostic capabilities help you reduce operational
costs and enhance reliability.
SNMP trap -
An embedded SNMP agent facilitates network management and notification over an
Ethernet connection.
SAN-readiness -
The L20 tape library can be upgraded quickly and easily simply by adding drives,
increasing the number of tape slots or the addition of a Fibre Channel router.
