IBM iSeries Model 825 is an outstanding server which can run applications in
multiple operating environments simultaneously. If additional capacity is
required, upgrades within the Model 825 and then upgrades all the way to a
mainframe class iSeries Model 890 are available.
A 3/6-Way processor with Capacity Upgrade on Demand supports all types of
workload including 5250 On-line Transaction Processing (OLTP), client/server,
WebSphere, JAVA, Web serving, business intelligence, Linux, ported UNIX as well
as Domino workloads.
Model 825 can be installed in general office environments, but most customers
will choose to locate the unit and its I/O in a separate area. The 825 system
unit is 610mm tall, 830mm deep, and 445mm wide. Or in inches, it is 24in tall,
32.7in deep, and 17.5in wide. These dimensions do not include optional
additional I/O towers or external I/O. The Model 825 has space for up to 15 disk
drives without using an optional I/O tower. Up to 18 optional I/O towers can be
attached via High Speed Link (HSL) loops providing space for up to 825 disk
drives and up to 263 PCI-X slots.
The base Model 825 consists of:
